Blidinje
The natural and architectural ensemble of Blidinje is part of the Tentative list of Bosnia Herzegovina in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Blidinje Nature Park (358 m2) is a mountainous area in the central part of the Dinaric Alps. It illustrates the geological processes that took place during the orogenesis of the chain as well as the evolutionary development of postglacial flora and fauna. It is home to 200 endemic plant species and it is the largest habitat of Heldreich's Pine in Europe. Prehistoric tumuli, lllyrian mounds, Roman roads, ruins of mediaeval churches, eleven necropolises with stećci tombstones (including Dugo Polje, already on the List), traditional mountain houses, and typical stone boundary walls are also to be found.
